Angel's Hair (Calliandra calothyrsus) produces feathery leaves decorated with splendid inflorescences, which consist of showy umbelliform clusters of pink and white filaments. The colour of the flower sepals and petals is green and the numerous red staminal filaments are red. The trunk can grow up to 30 centimetres in diameter and is covered by white-reddish brown bark. It is native to humid and semihumid environments in Central America, including suitable habitats in Mexico. You can find these pink tropical flowers from the Mexican Pacific coast and down through Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and northern Panama. It grows very fast and in Central America it is frequently used as firewood.

The Pink Shower (Cassia grandis) is a popular ornamental tree native to Central and South America. The spreading branches produce highly decorative fuzzy and Mimosa like shoots of a pink colour.
