Although there are a lot of beautiful Hawaiian tropical flowers, the truth is that they can be found elsewhere. One must not go to Hawaii to see them and they usually don’t have anything to do with Hawaii, it is just a common misunderstanding. What is not a misunderstanding though, is that the tropical flowers bloom like crazy on Hawaii and there are a lot of different kinds of flowers also, hence the expression Hawaiian tropical flowers. If you can afford it, a trip to Hawaii to see the Hawaiian tropical flowers for yourself is a wonderful experience that will not be forgotten. For examples of Hawaiian tropical flowers you can see, keep on reading.

Hawaiian tropical flower – Anthurium

The Anthurium can easily be recognised by its characteristic spike on which thousands of little flowers bloom, usually with a fleshy and brightly colored leaf like spathe underneath. This Hawaiian tropical flower was discovered by an Austrian botanist named Heinrich Wilhelm Schott and can be found in the tropical mountains of South-Central America and, of course, on Hawaii. The leaves of this Hawaiian tropical flower can come in lots of different shapes and sizes and it can therefore be quite difficult to separate the Anthurium from other Hawaiian tropical flowers before it blooms.

Hawaiian tropical flower – Strelitzia

>This Hawaiian tropical flower is a genus also known as the Birds of Paradise flower due to its resemblance of the feathers of the Bird of paradise. This Hawaiian tropical flower originates from South Africa but has been spread all over the world because of its beauty. The largest of the Strelitzia can become 33 feet (10 meters) tall but it is more common with half that height. The leaves are common to the banana leaves and the flowers are produced in a horizontal cluster growing out from a stout spathe. Dogs enjoy eating these flowers so it is best to keep the flowers out of reach. The flowers are actually quite healthy for the dog, but it sure is a waste of beautiful Hawaiian tropical flower.

Hawaiian tropical flowers – Heliconia

A common name for this Hawaiian tropical flower genus is lobster-claw, or sometimes false bird-of-paradise since it has some similarities to the Strelitzia mentioned above. The Heliconia can be found in the tropical parts of the American continent and on some of the Pacific Ocean islands, including Hawaii. The leaves of this Hawaiian tropical flower can grow quite large and the fleshy and brightly colored panicles grow on erect or drooping panicles. The panicles are just protection for the real flower peeking out inside of it. This makes the Heliconia a perfect Hawaiian tropical flower for hummingbirds to feed from, since it can reach the real flower and its nectar using its beak.

Hawaiian tropical flowers – Orchids

More or less everybody has heard of the beautiful and exclusive flower that goes under the name Orchid. The Orchids have one of the most complex evolutions known in the plant life, not only in Hawaiian tropical flowers, and is therefore protected in a number of ways. Many cultivate these examples of Hawaiian tropical flowers and new kinds are bred every once and awhile. The flowers of the Orchid are usually large, fleshy and expressive. This with the difficulty getting them to bloom makes this Hawaiian tropical flower an impressive achievement in any home or office
